This group has been running successfully since December 2010 and we are still discovering new places in London to visit.
Planning meetings are held each December, with as many members of the group as possible attending. In December 2017, 24 out of the 27 members attended. At those meetings, members volunteer (singly or in pairs) to lead outings into London, choosing a month from January to November of the following year. They decide the date in the month and where we will go. Some of the outings are mainly walking (at a leisurely pace so we can appreciate the places we pass through), others will be visits to buildings such as museums, theatres, cathedrals etc (sometimes with guides) and others may be a mixture of the two.
Our outings in 2018 include visits to the new Postal Museum and Eltham Palace and a walk through Mayfair.
Costs are kept as low as possible by travelling off peak and using the 2 for 1 vouchers where available.
Unfortunately, the group cannot take any new members at this time.
If anybody is considering starting a new Exploring London Group, I would be happy to give them whatever assistance I can. Contact the link above.
