LOCAL AFFAIRS

West Herts Hospital Redevelopment Group

We would like to invite you to our next meeting to update you on the hospital redevelopment plans.

Thank you to everyone who shared their views about the proposed changes to our hospital services via our engagement programme ‘Your Care, Your Views’. Our September board papers provide more detail on the feedback we received during this engagement period (see pages 395 and 526).

In July we received a request from the New Hospital Programme for three interim cost options for new build and refurbishment at West Herts Hospitals NHS Trust. Since we submitted our proposals in August, we have received a few queries from our stakeholders wanting further updates and what this means for our preferred option. You can read our August briefing here.

We have also created an A – Z topic information guide. This document addresses frequently asked questions and the main themes from our engagement. It will be updated monthly and we will provide details of new and amended information.

The September meeting will be held via Zoom (if you haven’t used Zoom before you can find more details here).

Please make sure you RSVP westherts.redevelopment@nhs.net by Tuesday 21 September (midnight) if you wish to attend. We can only admit you if you have done this. The meeting will be recorded and we will send you a link to view.

Thursday 23 September 2021

Time: 3.30pm – 4.30pm (please allow time for the joining process)
Zoom Link: https://westherts-nhs-net.zoom.us/j/99474833456

The purpose of this meeting is to provide an update on the redevelopment programme, outline our options and provide further information on our timeline.

We would also like to remind you that the recording of our AGM which took place on 2 September is ready to view here. From a redevelopment perspective, there are two points of the meeting that might be of interest: Helen Brown’s Strategy and redevelopment update (time code 1.44 – 3.41) and the Q&A

Ahead of our session on Thursday, we’d be very grateful if we could set you some homework! We are planning to create a short film to provide an update and we’d also like to see if we can include a few of the most frequently asked questions.  We will be asking you to submit yours to us either before, during or after the meeting and to do this by email please to this address. Due to the need to keep the film brief, the questions need to be short and not too detailed. We would welcome questions about models of care in particular and questions that are relevant to people across the area we serve please.  We will explain a bit more on Thursday, so we hope you can join us.
