Philosophical Problems: Gorgias

This class alternates with the History of Philosophy, also on Monday afternoons.  Our worthy member-tutor Laurie Gibson will be giving us philosophical dilemmas for deliberation and discussion.

Gorgias: Alternating with History of Philosophy dates for the discussion in the Autumn Term are:

 

  • September 21, October 5, November 2, 16, 30
  • We will be continuing to read dialogues from The Gorgias
  •  Please bring your copy of The Gorgias (Penguin Classics, translated by Walter Hamilton) to the above sessions.

 

The class starts at 2.30 pm prompt and we vacate the room by 4.15 pm.  There is a short tea break with a tea making rota!  The autumn term cost is £12.50 and includes the History of Philosophy sessions
