If you have interests that are currently not represented among our many groups or perhaps the groups that do interest you have no vacancies, don't hesitate to contact the Groups Coordinator. Setting up a new group is simple enough once we know what you want to do and have enough members interested.
Spanish for Beginners
This course is now fully subscribed.
Ukulele 1 are looking for some additional players who have some experience of Ukulele playing. We would also like to invite members who might just like to sing along with us and maybe play a percussion instrument, as we could really do with those additions. Contact Ukulele 1
Suggestions for New Groups
I was approached today by two members who would like to start the following groups. If anyone else is interested in either of these please contact me, Groups Coordinator. (Obviously there is no further information at present as to whether these will come to fruition, nor where or when they would be held).
- Canasta for Beginners Seven members have already expressed an interest in this (minimum required 6-8)
- Cryptic Crossword Solving - Five members have already expressed an interest
If anyone is interested in joining a Circle Dancing class at St Peter’s Church on Monday afternoons (£3 per 1½ hour session) please contact Sue Bowman This is a non-U3A class.
Groups with Vacancies
To Contact any of the Group Organisers you must be logged in to the website. Once you have done this, go to the Group page by selecting “Group List” in the menu under Groups tab above and then scroll down to the Group you wish to contact and click on the 'Email Group Organisers' (first yellow envelope icon) at the top of the Group page. Additionally the following groups are "actively recruiting".

Badminton 3 Wednesdays 10.00 to 12.00 at Herts Sports Village, University of Hertfordshire de Havilland Campus Cost - £2.50 - £3 for a 2 hour session depending on numbers. New members of all abilities very welcome. Organiser Mary Pilbery
Bridge 1 meets every Monday morning from 9.30 - 12. Each member takes it in turn to host the players in their own homes - usually 1 or 2 tables, so the group’s numbers must be limited. As our numbers vary weekly, we have no regular partners and often swap around during the morning. The play, using ACOL system, is informal, no pressure and very sociable. We play at an intermediate level. Organiser Liz Farley
Creative Writing 2 would welcome some new members. We meet on the last Wednesday of the month in the morning. Contact Jacqueline Jones for more information.
Creative Writing 3 are looking for a couple of new members. We meet on the first Thursday of the month at 2pm. Please contact John Johnson for more details.

Mobility for those possibly older members with serious mobility issues which could be relieved, say, with sitting exercises. Dietary tips also given by fully qualified personal trainer. Table Tennis 5 - come and join us at Greenwood Park on Fridays at 3.30pm. Room for several more players. Organiser Prem Saminaden
Walks 2 5-6 Miles – join us on the third Thursday of the month. We walk from a local pub normally no more than 30 minutes’ drive away with lunch at the end of the walk. Contact Organiser Sue Gavin
Walks 11 – Walking on Tuesdays – come and join us on alternate Tuesdays at 10am. We plan to walk 4-5 miles. If you have a dog, you are welcome to bring your pooch with you as this group welcomes dogs. Organiser Chris Hackett
Wine Tasting 3 - we have space for a few new members. We meet on the fourth Monday of the month at 7.30pm in group members' homes. Contact Diane Levey
